On June 27^th,2023, the finals of the 2023 “Guilin Bank Cup” Data Modeling Competition and the warm-up finals of the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition Guangxi Division were held in Guilin, jointly organized by the Guangxi Applied Mathematics Center (affiliated with Guangxi University), Guilin Bank, and the organizing committee of the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition Guangxi Division.

A total of 2,551 participants from 197 universities, both within and outside the Region, enthusiastically registered for the competition, marking a remarkable increase of over 40% compared to the previous year. The competition has evolved to become more professional, and influential, captivating the attention of participants and observers alike. The prestigious “NumCompStat Team” from Guilin University of Electronic Technology and the exceptional “Freshfish Team” from Beihang University and University of International Business and Economics were honored with the prestigious Special Award in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Guangxi Applied Mathematics Center (Guangxi University), has consistently pursued its mission to be deeply rooted in Guangxi, serving the Region, while also expanding its reach nationwide and globally. Functioning as a pivotal link between academia and industry, the center diligently seeks mathematical solutions to address critical challenges faced by the government and various sectors. It has made significant strides in practical applications of applied mathematics, ensuring its effective implementation.

The “Guilin Bank Cup” Data Modeling Competition has been held for three sessions, further elevating its reputation and impact. It has played a positive role in deepening cooperation between banks and universities. By facilitating extensive, inclusive, and close-knit interactions, it has greatly contributed to talent development, employment opportunities, and the advancement of rural revitalization initiatives.
