2. Project Overview
To further enhance the talent support system for scientific funds and fully leverage the role of scientific funds in attracting and nurturing talent, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (referred to as the NSFC hereinafter) has established the National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Science Fund Project (Overseas) since 2021. The Overseas Outstanding Youth (Overseas OYT) Program aims to attract and encourage outstanding young scholars (including non-Chinese foreign talents) who have achieved notable accomplishments in natural sciences, engineering, and related fields overseas to return to China for employment. Participants are empowered to independently choose their research directions and conduct innovative research, facilitating the rapid growth of young scientific and technological talents. The program aims to cultivate a group of promising academic backbones capable of entering the forefront of global science and technology, contributing to the construction of a scientifically advanced nation.
