On September 11, a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation agreement between Guangxi University (GXU) and Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau (GXIEAB) was held at the Bureau’s headquarters. Leaders participated at the ceremony included Li Guozhong, Secretary of the CPC GXU Committee, Han Linhai, Deputy Secretary of the CPC GXU Committee and President of GXU, Wei Zhaohui, Secretary of the CPC GXIEAB committee and Director of GXIEAB, Xia Guoen, member of Standing Committee of the CPC GXU Committee and Vice President of GXU, and Shi Zuyao, Deputy Director of GXIEAB. Liang Enwei, Vice President of GXU, and Zeng Zhong, Deputy Director of GXIEAB signed the strategic cooperation agreement representing both sides.
Li Guozhong expressed his gratitude to the GXIEAB for its support and collaboration with GXU. He pointed out that GXIEAB as a permanent working institution of the China-ASEAN Expo undertakes important responsibilities in the overall planning, top-level design, organization and implementation of major events of the Expo. It has played a pivotal role in the exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in various fields such as politics, economy, and culture.He expressed his hope that both parties could enhance their cooperation in high-level talent training, scientific research, social services, and international exchanges, contributing to the development of Guangxi, to the successful hosting of the CAEXPO, and to the establishment of a China-ASEAN community for a shared future.
Han Linhai introduced the overall situation and latest developments of our school in recent years. He pointed out GXU has always strongly supported and deeply participated in China-ASEAN Expo, providing high-level professional support services in foreign affairs reception, translation, volunteer services and other aspects. He hoped to take the signing of this agreement as a new starting point, promote the deep integration of industry, academia, research and application through the co-construction of internship and training bases, joint scientific research projects and high-level forums to facilitate the organic connection between chains of education, talent, industry and innovation. Han expressed that this partnership would enable both sides to serve as a think tank for government and enterprises, provide advice to the government, offer suggestions to enterprises, seek development for the China-ASEAN region and cultivate talents for society.
Wei Zhaohui stated that this year marks the beginning of a new phase in the development of the China-ASEAN Expo, transitioning from a "Golden Decade” and “Diamond Decade”to a “Crowned Era”. He emphasized that this year is also the China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchange. He hopes both sides will strengthen communication and cooperation, systematically implement the China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation Outlook Report, jointly carry out the China-ASEAN Young Leaders Development Program, and adopt a “Dialgue+Study” model to create a “Future Project” for youth exchange and mutual learning between China and ASEAN.
Department officials from Guangxi International Expo Bureau, along with leaders from the University’s Party and Administration office, Research Institute, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, China-ASEAN Economic Institute, School of Economics, China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation Institute, China-ASEAN Research Institute, School of Foreign Languages, participated in the meeting and the signing ceremony.
